Mom was born 91 years ago today. Last year we had a birthday party for her, and I wrote about it in one of my posts. I talked about what fun it was, sort of, but I focused a lot on my caregiving angst. I told you about some of the highlights of the day, but this year I want to show you. Enjoy!

My sister-in-law Jo Lynn used her Creative Memory talents to create a nostalgic invitation.

We bought Mom a new pantsuit and a corsage of red roses for the occasion. She had no idea what was going on, but the smile never left her face. She was the belle of the ball.

Southridge Village where Mom lived furnished cake, punch and decorations.

In spite of a “No Gifts” note on the invitation, there were a few packages to open.

Mom’s favorite gift was a stuffed cat from her great-granddaughter EmmaLeigh.

There were lots of cameras, and picture time was hilarious.

- Aunt Grace also has Alzheimer’s, but she’s still a live wire.

Aunt Fay, the youngest and only sound mind in the group, moved to the middle and tried to corral the other two.

- The results were endearing if not of portrait quality.

What beautiful sisters! They are, and were, so very different and wonderful.
Yes, Sarah. They are three very special ladies, good examples for us to follow!!
Love you!
Lovely sweet tribute!
Thanks, Sharon.
Especially love the picture with EmmaLeigh… both so sweet. And I can see the sister-humor, too! Great way to honor her on her first birthday in the presence of her Lord.
Sue, that’s my favorite, too. Sweet memories!
