MomandDadSeveral years ago I co-facilitated a caregiver support group with David and another couple who cared for her mother in their home. When we started the group, we planned programs and invited speakers, but we soon learned that what the caregivers needed most was a safe place to talk. Even so, each week I began with a short devotional or reading to focus the discussion and avoid the chaos that can result when all the hurts and resentments bubble up at once. Southridge Village’s Tribute to Mom | by Linda Brendle

Since Mom died on May 20 we’ve received a lot of sweet, heartfelt expressions of sympathy. There have been e-mails, notes on Facebook, cards, phone calls, and personal words of support. All of them have meant so much and have helped us deal with the grief, but I don’t think any of them has meant any more to me than the one we received today. (more…)

What’s In a Tombstone

We took the motorhome to the RV doctor in Rockwall earlier this week. Some people think RVers are gas hogs who ignore environmental issues as we roll along the highway spewing emissions.
