On caregivers, faith, family, and writing…

Helen Hagan Robinson, 90, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 20, 2012. She died peacefully in her sleep in her home at Southridge Village in Conway, Arkansas.

She was born September 3, 1921 in Burkburnett, Texas. On December 21, 1940, she married Elmer Robinson, her childhood sweetheart, in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Fay, and Elmer’s brother, Dean.

Helen worked outside the home for a number of years, but her career of choice was that of homemaker, wife and mother. A lifelong member of the Southern Baptist church, she raised her children to love the Lord through her godly example.

She was preceded in death by her soul mate of 70 years, Elmer Robinson. She leaves behind her son, Jim Robinson and wife, Jo Lynn of Conway, her daughter, Linda Brendle and husband, David of Emory, Texas, four grandsons, ten great-grandchildren, three sisters: Fay Robinson, Grace Cummins and Ella Mae Taylor and many nieces & nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel in Dallas at 12:30 PM, Thursday, May 24; visitation from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Following her request, we are asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc.; the American Cancer Society; or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
