When I was younger, cameras used film that had to be developed, so we were a little more selective about the events we chose to preserve for posterity. If we did click the shutter at an indiscreet moment, we had the option of destroying the negative and any prints that had been made without the fear that our indiscretion would be unearthed at a later date and flashed across Cyberspace at the speed of light. There were definite advantages to living in the pre-digital age.
