Tatia’s Tattoo Crowdfunding Levels 1 and 2 | by Linda Brendle

LevelsThe crowdfunding campaign to publish Tatia’s Tattoo  is now live. Yesterday’s post gave an overview of the crowdfunding process and briefly explained the six levels of participation. Today I want to give a little more detail about the first two levels.

Level 1, the Friends Level, is for those who want to be part of the campaign but don’t want to pledge at a larger level right now. The minimum contribution is $5, and the reward is my undying gratitude and one chance to win a $5 Amazon gift certificate.

Level 2 is the Readers Level. Readers are those who want the convenience and portability of digital books. The minimum contribution for this level is $10, and the reward is a copy of Tatia’s Tattoo in the ebook format of your choice. You will also receive one chance to win a $10 Amazon gift certificate.

Here are two easy ways to see what all the excitement is about:

  1. To read a sample of Tatia’s Tattoo, CLICK HERE.
  1. To decide which level of participation works best for you, CLICK HERE.

After you’ve read the sample, email me at lindabrendle@yahoo.com. I’d love to hear what you think.

Tatia’s Tattoo Crowdfunding Campaign Is Now Live! | by Linda Brendle

ShameHuman trafficking is one of the three largest illegal industries in the world  – experts disagree on whether it is second or third. Over a million children each year fall victim to traffickers.

Today I have launched a crowdfunding campaign aimed at gathering support to meet the costs of publishing Tatia’s Tattoo, a Christian novel that tells the story of sex trafficking in small-town America. Raising awareness of this issue could be the first step in solving it.

You can be involved by pledging financial support to help cover the costs of development Cover coming soonand copy editing, typesetting, proof reading, and cover design. Proceeds will also cover the miscellaneous costs involved in setting up the ebook, acquiring the ISBN and Library of Congress numbers, and so forth, as well as the printing costs for the books supporters will receive as rewards.

There are six different levels of support, each with a minimum dollar amount and a corresponding reward. The Friends Level has a minimum of $5, and the reward is my undying gratitude and a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift certificate. The Gold Book Club Level has a minimum of $275 and the reward includes ten print copies of Tatia’s Tattoo, ten custom bookmarks, ten custom tote bags, a personal or video appearance by the author (depending on location), ten chances to win a $30 Amazon gift certificate, and an acknowledgement of your book club and members in the book. In between the two levels, there are four others that increase from the lowest to the highest. The dollar amounts shown are suggested minimums, but if you feel as strongly about this project as I do, you are free to increase any of the dollar amounts.

The campaign is set up to accept all major credit cards. All funds collected, with the exception of processing fees charged by the credit card companies, are applied to publishing costs. In the event we collect more than the initial costs, excess funds will be held and applied to the printing costs of future sales. In the unlikely event the project is cancelled, all contributions will be refunded except for the processing fees. No cash is ever released to the author.

The actual publication process will take three to four months after the end of the campaign. During the process, I am planning a cover reveal, a book video trailer, an author video/Facebook Live event, and anything else that sounds like fun. If all goes as planned, the books and other rewards will be available by late summer. I am also working on a booklet outlining other ways you can help fight human trafficking. The final product will be posted on the Internet in a PDF format, and the link will be available in the book.

I hope you will join me in this project. Simply click this link, click the “Contribute” button, and choose your level of support and reward. Together I believe we can make a difference.

Blessings,

Linda

Book Review: Blue Tide by Jenna-Lynne Duncan

Young Adult Pirate Fantasy Romance

Released by Clean Teen Publishing on January 9, 2017

About the Book:

Seventeen-year-old refugee Lux plots her escape from the island where her family is stranded, denying that her home was lost in the Floods. Lux is determined to get her old life back by any means possible. But before her feet even leave the sand, she’s taken hostage by a vengeance-driven pirate nearly as young as she is.

Her capture is the key to his freedom…

Captain Draven’s scarf veils more than his face. Underneath, he struggles between morality and survival. When Lux sees deeper into his motivations, she’s torn. She can commit mutiny to escape to a home that may no longer exist, or she can try to help Draven escape the clutches of the person responsible for the deaths of half the world. Staying would mean entrusting her life to a pirate. Helping Draven would mean losing her heart to one.

My Review:

Blue Tide by Jenna-Lynne Duncan is the perfect choice for any reader who is looking for a romantic story full of action, adventure, and mystery. Duncan has created a world the reader will experience through each sense as the author paints sights, sounds, smells, and sensations with words instead of a brush. She has imagined characters that you will love or hate but you will not forget. This young adult fantasy is a fun read, even for an “older” murder mystery fan like me.

Mary never even got to see her baby. They took it away as soon as she gave birth. And the hole in her heart has never healed. So when she meets Rachel and Piper, two lost girls looking for a family, her broken heart skips a beat…

Review:

Whenever I pick up a book by Buffy Andrews, I have come to expect a reading experience that will draw me into a funny, exciting, and/or emotional story filled with life-like characters that I grow to care about. Our Fragile Hearts, Andrews’ latest release, does not disappoint.  This poignant tale of a five-year-old girl, a young adult single woman, and a wealthy, childless widow met all my expectations beautifully.

Our Fragile Hearts tells the story of love lost and love found, but not in the typical boy-meets-girl scenario. Five-year-old Piper, newly orphaned and insecure, meets Mary, a lonely woman who longs to make her huge house into a loving home. The love at first sight between the two is mutual. Rachel, whose life plans have been turned upside down by the introduction of a younger sister, holds herself aloof for fear of one more in a long string of disappointments.

Andrews weaves the lives of these three characters into a lovely narrative that will make you want to hurry on to see what happens next but also to linger in the parlor where Piper, Rachel, and Mary are sharing a cup of tea. For a memorable reading experience, I highly recommend Our Fragile Hearts by Buffy Andrews.

Book Review: The Cold Room (The Balancovat Series Book 1) by Carolyn Filetti

The Cold Room Cover

Blurb: Recreating yourself in a new place can be a dream come true for most teens. Doing so out of duty to a dying race is a different story. Wren Hemsky would have been satisfied just being her shy, reclusive self when her father moved their family to a small farm town in the Midwest. The inherited farm holds dark family secrets that awakens a new reality in the seventeen year-old Wren. Her yearning for truth is hindered when she is pursued by a bully, who is obsessed with her. To add to her new complicated life, she must balance her brother, David, who is normally controlled by medication. The pressure intensifies as Wren falls for the egocentric and reclusive Arden, who may hold the answers she is looking for. Arden is dark and unlike normal humans, causing Wren’s quiet life to come to a screeching halt. Wren must battle a tyrant while falling for a strange boy, forgive and seek help from an angry brother all while uncovering a secret that may prove her the most monstrous of them all.

Review: Reading The Cold Room by Carolyn Filetti was an unusual experience for me. I haven’t read any fantasy since David and I decided to re-read The Chronicles of Narnia (more…)

Book Review: Pig and Sheep by Mike Breen

CoverPig and Sheep Mike Breen is a delightful picture book that will entertain children of all ages while offering a message of grace and hope.
